April 2025 Children's Hunger Fund Visit

Hi everyone! On Saturday, April 12, 2025, CHEER members made their monthly visit to volunteer at the Children's Hunger Fund. Members helped sort clothes and shoes into boxes. We had many old and new families join us.

Members: Alice, Jimmy, Willa, Helen, Justin, Yuchen (Eric) Shen, Gavin, Lily, Xin Liu and Dylan

It was Eric's first time attending a CHEER event, he wrote about his experience:

"My visit to the Children's Hunger Fund yesterday was meaningful, because I learned so much about teamwork and serving others. The most memorable part was working with a boy named Juan who was next to me. I joined and worked with him as he seemed to need some help. We sorted and packed donated items like jackets and sweaters which will be sent to those in need. However, there are times when I wasn’t sure how to sort and label certain items. Fortunately, other volunteers and staff were really supportive and kind, thus I felt comfortable to ask them for help. Overall, I really enjoyed this learning experience, and I am looking forward to helping the community more!"
