CHEER x PALS STEAM Camp Day 3
Date: June 15th, 2022 Time: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM The third day of the CHEER x PALS STEAM Camp was also very successful. The kids had a lot of fun and also learned a lot. Session 1: Game time, by Ian, was continuing yesterday's game of jumbo jenga. At one point, the tower was in a very precarious position that didn't seem very possible. Session 2: Science in a bag was hosted by Ian, Elizabeth, Jerry, and Hannah. The students got to learn about cool science concepts, such as caramelization and oxidation, water tension, buoyancy, and polymer chains. All the students were very engaged and learned a lot Session 3: After science, the kids got to do an arts and crafts session with Ian and Elizabeth. In this session, the students made straw rockets! These were paper rockets that you can launch from a straw.
Session 4: In this session, Jerry and Hannah took the kids through a programming course for ev3 robots. The kids cot to work on getting a robot to follow a path.
