Community Dance Class

Class Registration fee: $50 per person (Check pay to Tzu Chi)

Class size: 6 to 8 Class Time: Sunday night 7 to 8 Class Location: 8963 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324 This is a quarterly class that includes 8 guaranteed sessions per quarter. The class will begin in April 2023 and will run through April, May, and June. The registration fee is $50 per person, and payment should be made out to Tzu Chi.

The class size will be limited to between 6 and 8 students, and sessions will be held on Sunday nights from 7 to 8 pm at 8963 Reseda Blvd in Northridge, CA 91324.

Please note that class sessions may be canceled due to holidays or teacher test/competition weekends. Any cancellations will be announced in the Line class group.

Additionally, please be aware that all members of the class are volunteers, and Tzu Chi charges only a minimum registration fee. As such, students are responsible for cleaning the classroom floor, disposing of trash, and ensuring the safety of the door. _____________________________________________________________

Beginner-Intermediate Introduction to Dance for Adults

Audrey Chen: A 14-year-old freshman in high school, who is currently a part of

Campbell Hall’s dance program and competition team. She has been dancing since

she was 3-years-old, and has professionally competed for five years. She has won a

number of awards and scholarships in various regional and national dance

competitions, and continues to learn and grow in all styles of dance, particularly

contemporary and ballet. She also hopes to extend her passion and advanced skills

for dance to the wider community and help more people to find joy and stay fit

from dance.

Class Description: This weekly introductory contemporary+ballet class is

designed to provide students with basic knowledge and techniques that will help

with posture and general flexibility as well. It is a class meant for all adult

beginners with no prior experience required, the rhythm of the class is very easy-

going, and the class is taught in both English and Chinese. This class focuses on

posture and basic movements that can help with the back, neck, arms, hips, and

legs long-term. Stretching, across the floor, and short, simple combinations are all

included. Overall, this class is carefully designed to improve the physical and

mental health of all members of our community.
