Rivendale Open Space and Trail Clean-up Session

Updated: Nov 6, 2021

Date: 10/17/2021

Time: 4-6 p.m

Location: Rivendale Open Space and Trail

The SCV CHEER Clean-up group had their 6th session/event on sunday! This time, 7 families came and our participant count totaled 25! Before the event started, Albert and Teresa's family set up 'slow down' signs for traffic control and provided each kid with an orange vest to safely pick up trash on the side of the road. We also had a professional photographer (Julia's Dad) take pictures of us while we were cleaning up! We picked up all kinds of trash like paper towels, glass bottles, wrappers, soda cans, and more. The end result was over 8 bags full of garbage! Yannis was an exceptionally excellent participant as he had a 10 feet long trash picker that allowed him to safely reach into bushes and grass to pick out trash at a range!

2 new members joined us on sunday! Welcome to the team Kate and Willa! Thanks for being amazing volunteers on your first CHEER SCV clean-up event!

After the clean-up session, we all hiked up the mountain as a relaxing break after our hard work! Special thank you to Albert and Teresa's parents for setting up traffic control and safety precautions before the event! Also thanks to Julia's family for providing professional photograph taking and assisting in our efforts to make our community more beautiful!
