Registration/Zoom link: http://bit.ly/meet-shervin

Shervin Aazami is a public health activist, husband, and working class champion fighting for economic and racial justice. He is one of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) 40/40 honoree and is running for Congress in CA-30. At the interview, we will discuss Shervin's experience engaging in the civic sphere as an immigrant, health equity, as well as the recent spate of anti-Asian violence.

After graduating from UCLA, Shervin worked for a residential treatment facility and later in Washington D.C. as the city health department’s HIV Screening Coordinator. Shervin was born in Bologna, Italy, the son of two Iranian asylum seekers who faced religious persecution and fled for their lives in the wake of the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Before his second birthday, his parents immigrated to the San Fernando Valley and settled in Canoga Park, California.
