The class on Wednesday went very smoothly. Students came to class with questions for the CSUN mentors and the mentors were able to answer the students’ questions.
Although there was only two students and they were a little shy at the beginning, as time passed they got more and more comfortable. A student came to class with a question about how to start her speech and so one of the mentors pulled up her own speech as an example, showing the student how they could start. The mentor explained that you can start with an attention getter and move on from there.
The student not only learned how to start her speech but also learned how to set up and format her speech as well. The mentors were able to create a positive and comfortable environment for the students to help them learn and grow.
